SEATTLE AREA SCHOOL + DAYCARE PORTRAITS

BEFORE PHOTO DAY — We connect and decide on the best day(s) for school portraits and any other details to make the day run smoothly, including location at the school/backdrop options/etc.

ON PHOTO DAY — We have So. Much. Fun! I spend a few minutes with each kiddo and we laugh the whole time. No stress + no awkward forced smiles. I’ve been a photographer for 15 years and harness all of my knowledge to quickly make sure the kiddos are comfortable, happy and loving their session. In return we get a combination of hilarious + beautiful portraits that everyone will love to look back on forever.

I’m also happy to photograph staff portraits and class groups.

AFTER PHOTO DAY — 2-3 weeks after school picture day I’ll email the school a link to a private online gallery with everyone’s photos where parents can order a variety of prints + products + digital files. I will also include a coupon code for 30% off anything ordered within the first two weeks that the gallery is active.

GETTING THE GOODS — I make it easy for the school and the parents by having all prints + products shipped directly to your home instead of the school. Digital files are available for purchased and are delivered quickly + easily online.

How does this all work?

How much do these sessions cost?

The session itself is free, nothing is due beforehand and there isn’t a minimum requirement to purchase anything at all. Parents only purchase what they’d like after they see the photos and are given a 30% discount on anything purchased within the first two weeks that the gallery is active.

Full pricing of prints + products + digital files can be found here.

How many images will you take?

It varies slightly per child (depending on how much of a ham they are. ;) ), but generally parents can expect 5-10 images of their kiddo in the gallery. My goal here is always to get great photos without pushing your child over their limit, but if your kiddo is having the time of their life and wants to show me all their silly faces I’ll allow them to live it up and you might have a few more images in that case.

Will you photograph siblings together?

Of course! If you’d like your kiddos photographed together, just make sure the school knows and I’ll photograph them both separately and also together so you have a good range.

What kind of background will the photos have?

This is something we can absolutely discuss together! We can use a specific area of the school to provide a natural background that unique to the school. We can also use a white or grey background, which provides a beautiful, modern look to really let your kiddos shine. We can also collaborate on a completely unique background to celebrate an event/season/holiday/anything to create something really special and fun for the kiddos, parents + school.

What time of year is best for school portraits?

This is completely up to the school and the parents. Fall is the most traditional time for school portraits, to mark the beginning of the school year and to get photos for school yearbooks/IDs/etc. Spring is a great option for a more laid back or unique style of portrait in addition to the fall portraits. Holidays also provide a really fun opportunity to take advantage of a special time of year, whether that’s hilarious photos of kids in Halloween costumes, adorable photos for Valentine’s Day, snow-themed portraits in the middle of winter, etc. The options are endless and I love working with the school to not only create beautiful traditional portraits, but to also utilize imagery to enhance curriculum and as a tool to make learning extra fun. There are so many opportunities and I love to think outside the box on this!
